Hi John It was a pleasure to talk with you the other night. I have studied your web site on the history of 6/56 Arty (HAWK). You cover quite a span of time. I can provide you with some information and photo for a small portion of your time line March 1968 to May of 1969. First let me give you a little background on myself. I grew up in a small village near Buffalo, New York. In October 1967 I was drafter into the U.S. Army. Did basic training as Ft. Knox, Ky October, November and part of December. AIT was at Ft. Gordon, Ga where I spent 8 weeks at MP school. At graduation I received orders to report to the 25th Inf. Div in Vietnam. Ariving at Ben Hoa in March 68 I was reassigned to A Battery 6/56 Arty. I spent form March 68 to September 68 at A Battery when we were redeployed up north to Chu Lai. I resided at A Battery their form September 68 to May 69 when I was sent back to the states for an early discharge. So I pretty much spent my whole Army careere as an MP with A Battery 6/56 Arty. I have quit a mix and match of material I can provide you, use it if you feel it's worthy. I will trickle information to you so not to overwhelm you with data. I would like to know more about you too John, your duty and how you build such a nice web site. Respectfuly Bill Wheeler

Folks I am trying to find anyone who served with Joseph (Joe) Musial from Chicago..........in late 60's could have been end of Nam to beginning of Germany deployment; trying to help his son (Erik) out..................I appreciate it; I was a grunt medic with C 2/7 of 1st Cav in 69. His son is a real good kid but is lacking info on his dad's military service; having passed away. Thank you!

Comments : I am trying to identify any artillery units that were located in the Long Binh/Bien Hoa area from 1966 to 1967. I am looking for units with nightly fire missions firing over and around Long Binh. This information is to help me submit a VA claim for service related hearing loss. I don't think very many Hawks would have been fired during this period. If you can point me in a direction, I would appreciate this. Thank you, Jerry Jones
